“The 30,000 additional troops that I am announcing tonight will deploy in the first part of 2010 – the fastest pace possible – so that they can target the insurgency and secure key population centers. They will increase our ability to train competent Afghan Security Forces, and to partner with them so that more Afghans can get into the fight. And they will help create the conditions for the United States to transfer responsibility to the Afghans.”
WALL THAT SPEAKS

Down Pennsylvania Avenue, passed the Capital Building in the District of Columbia, passersby can pause for a moment in front of the NEWSEUM and see a fragment of an incredible exhibit. Those who pay the small admission can bare witness to the largest display of the Berlin Wall outside of Germany proper. Just twenty years after its destruction Americans can stop by the nations capital to get a better understanding of what these small segments mean in context of the history of the world. From an artistic perspective, the sections of the wall were flushed with European graffiti that absolutely usurp anything you will find out in New York, save a few exceptions of course. Instead of simply “tagging up” the graffiti on these walls is geared more toward political theory and thought. An actual reason for what many may consider to be a deviation in art. I commend those who spent time rebelling with a cause and hope to get the opportunity to see more mindful expressions of the conscience, like these, in the near future.

A recent survey shows that smart and successful woman are “major pot heads”…. I knew it.
“Jennifer Pelham* kicks off her black Marc Jacobs pumps, slips out of her trim Theory blazer, and collapses on the couch. The 29-year-old corporate attorney for one of Manhattan’s top law firms has just clocked another 12-hour day, and though it’s over, she’s having a hard time shaking off her frustrations. (A partner had eviscerated the contract she’d drafted, then left before Pelham had a chance to explain herself.) Still distracted, Pelham orders dinner—sushi, as usual—then reaches for a plastic orange prescription bottle standing on the corner of her coffee table alongside a glass pipe and blue Bic lighter, just as the cleaning lady left them. She twists off the cap, pinches off a piece of the fragrant green bud inside, gingerly places it in the bowl of the pipe, and lights up. Over the next 30 minutes, she takes three deep drags, enough to drown out the noise whirring in her head. Then she eats.”

BERLIN REUNION

“1.5 million people filled the streets of Berlin, Germany to watch a several-day performance by France’s Royal de Luxe street theatre company titled “The Berlin Reunion”. Part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Reunion show featured two massive marionettes, the Big Giant, a deep-sea diver, and his niece, the Little Giantess. The storyline of the performance has the two separated by a wall, thrown up by “land and sea monsters”. The Big Giant has just returned from a long and difficult – but successful – expedition to destroy the wall, and now the two are walking the streets of Berlin, seeking each other after many years apart.” – BOSTON.COM

This was a article I was told about awhile ago in GQ Magazine.. this is pretty intense, read when you get a chance.
Excerpt from article:
“The next time Kayla texted him, X sent a message back saying he didn’t know who she was, that another girl was using that same screen name, so she must be some kind of fake. He did not want to hear from her again.
A few minutes later, his phone lit up. I don’t know if I would say that, Kayla wrote, because I have those pictures of you, and you don’t want me to send those out.
X freaked. Was she psycho? He read the text again. Then he really started to panic.
Kayla sent another message. She said not to worry, she wouldn’t really send out those pictures, under one condition: He had to let her friend Tony suck him off.
What…? Tony? Who’s Tony? This girl, whoever she was, was insane. He tried to ignore her, but she kept texting, kept taunting: It’s your choice. Make a decision.
What the hell was he supposed to do?
Everyone knew what happened to pictures like these. He could not believe how stupid he’d been. If this girl sent his pictures around, his life would be over.
He didn’t know what to do, and now Kayla was pressuring him to decide. Letting those pictures out was not an option.
Then he got a text from Tony, who talked him into meeting at the public library.
It was going to be okay, Tony said. If they did this, Kayla would delete the pictures.
X went to the library, and he and Tony went into the men’s room and into a stall. Tony got down on his knees. X looked down and saw that Tony was holding a camera. What the fuck?
It’s okay, Tony told him. Kayla just has to see proof.
For a couple of days, X thought he was in the clear. Finally, it was over. He’d learned his lesson. Now please let him move on.
Then he got another text. This one from Tony. Bad news. He messed up. He deleted those pictures from the library by mistake. Kayla still needed proof. She wanted them to do it again.”

T-PAIN FOR PREZ.

The search for a new president at Florida State University has barely begun and guess who wants to run..
T-Pain For FSU Prez ( with these “Give Pain a Chance” T-shirts to promote the cause ) the campaign was started last week by FSU graduate student Justin de la Cruz.
It expanded to a Facebook group that has more than 1,100 members, including the wife and sister of Tallahassee native T-Pain. T-Pain has endorsed the campaign via Twitter and his own Facebook page.
ZAMBIKE

Zambikes, a business venture between two American and two South African entrepreneurs, is an extremely interesting company to say the least. The Zambike product is very much immersed into the Zambian community, proper. Much of the demand comes from local businesses that wish to supply more cost effective and environmentally conscious forms of transportation for their employees. Zambike also apparently is available to consumers around the world.
What’s most interesting about the company is their newest product. Bamboo bike-frames, made in association with Craig Calfee and his Bamboosero Project, have definitely proved to be a breath of life into the business. It’s pretty easy to appreciate when people think outside of the conventional to create a product that’s less taxing on the environment while also advancing the industry.

QCK POINTS ON HEALTH-CARE

WHY THE RUSH?
Spin – Obama is being accused of trying to rush Health-care reform in order to satisfy his own political agenda.
Idea – Obama is trying to produce the most change. As long as it remains on the floor, it is open to more speculation and republicans (as well as more conservative democrats) will find ways to bargain in favor of maintaining the broken system of healthcare that Americans are currently subjected to.
THEY TOOK OUR HEALTH-CARE!
Idea – Health-care will be available to a the “vast majority” if not every American.
Spin – Illegal immigrants could possibly receive Health-care under new plan due to a loop hole.
CADILLAC PLANS
Idea – Reduce the tax breaks that are available to higher income Americans (applies to people who gross more than $1,000,000 annually)
Spin – Obama wants us to all to accept a lower quality of Health-care, so that it will be available to more Americans.
DEBT, DEBT & MORE DEBT!
Spin – We have spent too much money already! Obama is simply trying to run us into more debt!
Idea – Yes! It is going to cost a lot to address and restructure the inefficiencies of our current system. This change is necessary for our already in debt nation to recover and work towards getting out of debt. What people need to realize is that it is an INVESTMENT. Eventually, or ideally rather, this money will help to reform the system and make a more competitive market for health insurers and Health-care providers ultimately leading toward a more progressive system over all. He uses the analogy of paying to keep your house heated. If you could warm your house by INVESTING in insulation and in turn saving money on your bills to the electric(or other utility) company, why would you not? He goes on to say that you would still be just as warm and yet you would be paying less.

39 DAYS TO MARS

New Scientist has recently published an article indicating that we could theoretically reach mars in approximately 39 days with ion engine powered by a nuclear reactor. How far away we are from this technology, or whether or not it is likely to develop is not very clear.
